While continuing to make records occasionally, Richard Strange has worked as an actor for the last eighteen years.

His feature film credits include, among others, MONA LISA with Bob Hoskins, BATMAN with Jack Nicholson and ROBIN HOOD, PRINCE OF THIEVES with Kevin Costner, and the new Martin Scorsese film GANGS OF NEW YORK

Selected television credits include THE BLACKHEATH POISONINGS, DANDELION DEAD, THE BILL and three episodes of MEN BEHAVING BADLY.

In addition, he has appeared as co-host in more than 50 episodes of the popular German TV programme 'GOTTSCHALKS HAUSPARTY' for SAT 1.

Theatre work includes a 12-month long world tour of HAMLET, directed by the Russian director Yuri Lyubimov, MURDER IS EASY at The Duke Of York's, London, and Zola's CRIMES OF PASSION, directed by Pip Broughton for the Nottingham Playhouse. Fringe work includes THE LAST NIGHT OF ANTONIN ARTAUD and THE BEELZEBUB SONATA.

From February 2003 until Spring 2004 Richard worked as an actor, singer, songwriter and narrator with the Contemporary Dance company PROTEIN DANCE, and throughout 2004 and January 2005 he performed, with Marianne Faithfull, in the Robert Wilson/Tom Waits/William Burroughs collaboration THE BLACK RIDER in London, San Francisco and Sydney.
