Richard has now finished his year-long collaboration with the Dance Theatre company Protein Dance ( Protein Dance ) and would like to thank everyone who managed to get along to one of the many shows the company played over the last year.

From April 2004 until January 2005, Richard Strange will be working on THE BLACK RIDER, a musical theatre piece created by three of Richard's great heroes, Tom Waits, William Burroughs and the American director Robert Wilson ( Robert Wilson: Entry) . The cast includes Marianne Faithfull, and will premiere in London at the Barbican Theatre on 17/5/2004 and run until 12/6/2004.

It will next be seen in San Francisco from 26/8/2004 until 10/10/2004.

It will also be performed in Sydney from 3/1/2005 until 24/1/2005.

The Black Rider is an adaptation of a Faustian German folktale, with a dozen songs written by Tom Waits, some co-written with William Burroughs. Richard will be acting and singing in the show.
